  1. Alert: Say ‘no’ to New York State forced electroshock

Specifically in the case of Simone D., but also looking to end this harmful treatment, overwhelmingly used on women against their will.

The website asks NY State citizens to contact all five of the public officials below (full contact details at the link above).
    1. Gov. Eliot Spitzer
    2. Lieutenant Gov. David Paterson
    3. Assemblyperson Peter M. Rivera
    4. New York State Office of Mental Health Commissioner Michael Hogan
    5. Senator Hillary Clinton.
US Citizens who are not citizens of NY State can still contact Senator Clinton in her capacity as a presidential candidate.

  2. Femmeconne is on in Perth, Friday, 21th and Saturday 22th of September and Sunday the 23rd, in September 2007.

A women’s space where children are welcome, Femmeconne is a fun weekend of talking, chatting, sleeping, eating, drinking, cooking, discussion, relaxation, painting, music, noise, children, demonstrations, napping, laughing, showering, cooking, reading, learning, loudness, quietness, and fun!

There will be various physical activities at the beautiful campsites, a democratically-organised and participatory feminist discussion/academic stream (currently being hashed out at the LJ, come join in), some self-affirmation stuff, arts, crafts, and companionship.

All meals provided, participants need to pitch in with cooking and washing up where possible.
